Cairo – October 06, 2026 -- Dwight School Cairo opened its doors on September 14, enrolling its first cohort of students for the 2026-27 academic year at Cairo Festival City, Egypt, under a strategic partnership between Al-Futtaim Education Foundation and the Dwight-Franklin School Group.
School inaugurated September 21 by Al-Futtaim and Dwight leadership
Omar Al Futtaim, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim Group, and Dr. Blake Spahn, Vice Chancellor of the Dwight-Franklin School Group, led the official inauguration ceremony on September 21. Mira Al Futtaim, Chief Future Education Officer at Al-Futtaim Education Foundation and Chairwoman of Emiratisation at Al-Futtaim Group, joined the event alongside school leadership, educators and founding families.
First phase covers Pre-K through grade 5, with grades 6-9 set for 2027-28
The initial phase serves students from Pre-K through grade 5, with flexible classrooms, specialist learning areas, a library, a makerspace and music spaces designed to support exploration and collaboration. Grades 6-9 are scheduled to launch in the 2027-28 academic year as part of the school's phased development plan.
Partnership pairs 150-year-old Dwight network with regional Al-Futtaim expertise
Dwight, founded in New York City in 1872, operates schools in New York, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Dubai, Jersey City and Hanoi, alongside Dwight Global Online and Franklin Global Online. Cairo becomes the newest addition to the Dwight-Franklin School Group's international network, giving local students access to peers and educators across the group's global campuses.
The curriculum draws on the Centre for Excellence in Arabic, a research-based unit tied to the Al-Futtaim Education Foundation, to shape Arabic-language instruction at the new campus.
