De Havilland Canada Puts Sherpa on Static Display at Farnborough

Farnborough – October 18, 2026 -- De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited is placing the Sherpa utility aircraft on static display at the Farnborough International Airshow, targeting a new generation of operators in special mission, tactical transport and humanitarian roles.

Sherpa pairs STOL performance with a rear loading ramp for access-critical missions

The aircraft combines short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance, a spacious cabin and a rear loading ramp. De Havilland Canada says this lets it fly missions where access and reliability are critical, including cargo and troop transport, paratroop operations and humanitarian flights from challenging environments.

Chief Commercial Officer Rob Mobilio pitches durability to operators

Rob Mobilio, Chief Commercial Officer for De Havilland Canada, said the Sherpa can operate where other aircraft cannot and that its versatility and durability keep it attractive to a wide range of operators. He said the company wants to reconnect customers with what the aircraft offers.

Sherpa joined De Havilland Canada's portfolio in 2019

The Sherpa entered the De Havilland Aircraft of Canada family in 2019. The manufacturer cites the aircraft's continued operation as evidence of the strength of the original design and its contribution to regional air transport and specialized operations.

The company says its Farnborough goals are to reintroduce the aircraft to the global aerospace community, engage directly with operators and industry partners, and explore future opportunities for the platform. The release discloses no orders, contract values or delivery figures for the Sherpa.
