De Havilland Canada Delivers First Production Twin Otter Classic 300-G

Calgary – October 18, 2026 -- De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited has delivered the first production Twin Otter Classic 300-G, serial number 998, to Switzerland-based Zimex Aviation, making Zimex the first EASA operator of the variant.

Aircraft 998 joins Zimex's global fleet for passenger, cargo and humanitarian work

The aircraft supports passenger, cargo, humanitarian and remote logistics operations worldwide. The handover is a first-in-service milestone for both companies: De Havilland Canada sees its first production Classic 300-G enter service, while Zimex becomes the initial European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) operator of the type.

Zimex has flown Twin Otters for more than five decades

Zimex Aviation CEO Daniele Cereghetti said Twin Otter aircraft have been the backbone of the company's business for the last 56 years. He said the carrier plans to deploy the new aircraft across its global operations and called the type essential for the demanding missions it performs daily.

Ryan DeBrusk, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at De Havilland Canada, described the delivery as another chapter in a long-standing partnership. He said Zimex's continued confidence in the aircraft reflects its enduring value.

Classic 300-G adds Garmin G1000 flight deck and a redesigned cabin

The Twin Otter Classic 300-G features the Garmin G1000 integrated flight deck, a redesigned cabin interior and enhanced operational efficiency. De Havilland Canada says the variant retains the rugged short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance and versatility of earlier Twin Otters.
