Datamaran Names Bert Sinnema CTO to Drive AI Platform Push

Leeuwarden – September 08, 2026 -- Datamaran, the AI-powered risk and governance software provider, has appointed Bert Sinnema as Chief Technology Officer, tasking him with accelerating AI-driven product development across the platform.

Sinnema takes charge of global engineering and product teams

Based in Datamaran's Leeuwarden office in the Netherlands, Sinnema will lead the company's global engineering and product organization, including its engineering hub in Valencia, Spain. He owns Datamaran's product vision, strategy, and technology roadmap, from architecture to delivery.

Sinnema brings 12 years of engineering leadership from cybersecurity and bug-bounty platforms

Sinnema joins from Eye Security, where as VP of Engineering he scaled the multi-hub international team 3x and helped the company reach a €60M Series C round. He previously spent over three years at HackerOne, the ethical hacking and bug bounty platform, rising to Director of Engineering, and founded SmartLockr, a secure communications platform he scaled across three countries through Microsoft's Ventures Accelerator in Berlin.

Datamaran deepens AI integration to speed risk and regulation insights

The appointment comes as Datamaran expands its use of AI across the platform to give customers faster, decision-ready insights into risk, regulation, and stakeholder expectations. CEO and co-founder Marjella Lecourt-Alma said Sinnema's experience building teams and technology fits the company's shift from ESG issue management toward an AI-powered governance platform.

Sinnema said he aims to focus on the intersection of product engineering leadership and AI as Datamaran addresses a complex risk landscape.
