MIDLAND, Texas – November 02, 2026 -- Dark Horse Cranes LLC has secured $5.6 million in aggregate contract awards that fully commit five heavy all-terrain cranes for terms of two to six months, the company said.
The awards cover three midstream energy developments across the Permian Basin and a multi-month structural engagement on a major data center campus. They are the company's first major commercial contracts.
Permian crews run 12-hour shifts across three counties for a top-25 E&P operator
Dark Horse is providing operated crane services for compressor station and midstream infrastructure installations. The client is a top-25 exploration and production operator. Field crews are working intensive 12-hour shifts in Midland, Martin and Howard counties.
Two heavy cranes deployed to a confidential data center development
Dark Horse has put two heavy all-terrain cranes on a major data center development. The scope covers structural steel erection, precast concrete placement, and setting of heavy mechanical and electrical equipment. Contractual confidentiality agreements keep the client identity and facility location undisclosed.
Dakota Presley, VP of Operations, said winning data center and Permian midstream work in the same quarter validates the company's business model, as both sectors need safety-certified crews.
Fleet grows by three to four late-model cranes every month
To support the $5.6 million backlog and a growing pipeline of enterprise demand, Dark Horse is adding three to four late-model heavy cranes to its Permian-based fleet each month.
