Oakland – October 19, 2026 -- Thirty-seven warehouse workers at VISTAR, a subsidiary of Performance Food Group (PFG), voted to join Teamsters Local 853, giving the union wall-to-wall representation at the company's Oakland facility.

Warehouse vote adds to 30 drivers organized in 2025

The new members join 30 VISTAR drivers who became Teamsters in 2025. The warehouse workers organized to secure stronger wages, better benefits and improved working conditions, according to the union.

VISTAR spent more than $146,000 opposing the campaign

The Teamsters say VISTAR spent more than $146,000 on what the union describes as an aggressive union-busting effort during the organizing drive. The workers voted to unionize regardless.

385 process and mechanical workers reject proposed safety and probation changes

The bargaining unit covers 385 process and mechanical workers who are pushing for higher wages, stronger benefits and reliable paid time off. Phillips 66 has proposed shortening the current 30-month training period and reducing qualification requirements, according to the union. Management also proposed extending probationary status tied to qualification milestones that could take up to six years to complete, replacing the existing 10-month probationary period.

Washington – September 22, 2026 -- The Teamsters Union has endorsed a settlement agreement announced by California Attorney General Rob Bonta that clears a path for the pending merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Bonta brokers deal covering unions and employers in entertainment merger

Teamsters General President Sean M. O'Brien credited Attorney General Bonta for coordinating unions, employers, and other stakeholders to reach terms on the merger.
