Permitting Becomes Top Risk as DCPI Revenue Hits $14B, Up 27%

Redwood City – October 15, 2026 -- The worldwide Data Center Physical Infrastructure (DCPI) market grew 27% year-over-year to $14 billion in manufacturer revenue in the second quarter of 2026, according to Dell'Oro Group. Growth has now run above 20% for consecutive quarters as demand for AI data center capacity outpaces supply. Dell'Oro attributes the modest slowdown from 1Q 2026 to a tougher comparison base, not weaker demand.

The research firm now ranks siting and permitting as the most serious near-term brake on the market. "The quieter and more consequential one is whether it will be permitted," said Alex Cordovil, Research Director at Dell'Oro, contrasting the issue with the louder debate over project cancellations. He said power availability, long-lead equipment and community opposition are stretching project timelines. He added that the timing of permits and grid interconnections is harder to forecast than the demand behind them.

Telecom Capex Rises 5% in H1 2026, But Long-Term Growth Stays Flat

Redwood City – October 06, 2026 -- Worldwide telecom capital expenditure climbed approximately 5 percent year-over-year in the first half of 2026, outpacing expectations set at the start of the year, according to Dell'Oro Group. The uptick follows several years of declining operator investment.

Equipment revenues track capex gains across six core programs

Aggregate manufacturer revenues across Broadband Access, Microwave & Optical Transport, Mobile Core Network, Radio Access Network, and High End Router & Aggregation also rose roughly 5 percent Y/Y in the first half of 2026, mirroring the capex trend.

Dell'Oro Group Hires Frank Yang to Lead Data Center Optical Connectivity Research

Redwood City, Calif. – October 01, 2026 -- Dell'Oro Group has appointed Frank Yang, a 25-year veteran of networking and data center technologies, to build out its coverage of the Data Center Optical Connectivity market.

Yang will build forecasting models spanning 800G to 3.2T optics

Yang's mandate centers on quantitative forecasting models covering 800G, 1.6T, and 3.2T pluggable modules, coherent optics, near-packaged optics (NPO), and co-packaged optics (CPO). He will also track the evolution of server Ethernet adapters and smart NICs as AI cluster scaling strains traditional interconnect capacity.

VIAVI Launches CF50, Smallest 100G Test Platform with Native PQC

Chandler, Arizona – September 29, 2026 -- VIAVI Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAV) has launched the CyberFlood CF50, billed as the industry's smallest and lightest all-in-one platform for enterprise-scale application performance, security and AI inference testing at speeds up to 100G.

CF50 delivers TLS performance 1.75X faster than nearest competitor

The 1U appliance combines Layer 4-7 traffic generation, security assessment and AI inference testing while offering what VIAVI describes as the industry's lowest power consumption. It includes native support for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), addressing enterprise migration toward quantum-resistant encryption standards.

Aglocell Software Unlocks 1 Terabyte of Daily Capacity for Tier-1 US Carrier

Warrenville, Ill. – September 28, 2026 -- Aglocell, Inc. has delivered a Tier-1 U.S. wireless carrier one terabyte of additional daily network capacity through software alone, avoiding an estimated $2.6 million in hardware costs across a single metro deployment.

SpectraMax software lifted peak-hour capacity by 4.1% across 60-plus cell sites

In a live trial spanning more than 60 sites in a major U.S. metropolitan area, Aglocell's SpectraMax platform increased network-wide capacity by 4.1% during peak busy hour, equal to roughly one terabyte of additional data throughput. The company says the gain matches one-third of a full new spectrum layer, a physical buildout that typically costs carriers $43,000 per cell site, or nearly $2.6 million across the tested sites.

SD-WAN spending strengthens as enterprises replace aging branch infrastructure

SD-WAN demand rose materially in Q2 as branch-network modernization climbed enterprise priority lists. Dell'Oro Group found the trend reflects selective replacement of aging or higher-risk equipment rather than a wholesale refresh across entire branch estates.

Wi-Fi 7 Drives Record WLAN Shipments as Memory Costs Push Prices Higher

Redwood City – – September 18, 2026 -- Vendors shipped a record volume of Access Points in the second quarter of 2026, pushing the global WLAN market to double-digit growth across every region, according to Dell'Oro Group's newly published Wireless LAN Quarterly Report.

Wi-Fi 7 captures more than half of second-quarter WLAN sales

Wi-Fi 7 equipment accounted for over 50% of the market in 2Q26, and Dell'Oro Group expects adoption of the standard to keep rising through 2028. Senior Director Siân Morgan said the first Wi-Fi 8 revenue could appear as early as next year, but that Wi-Fi 7 will remain the dominant purchase for enterprise buyers in the interim.

Network Security Market Hits $8B in Q2, Up 18% on AI Security Demand

Redwood City, Calif. – September 14, 2026 -- The worldwide Network Security market reached nearly $8 billion in the second quarter of 2026, up 18 percent year-over-year, according to a new report from Dell'Oro Group. Firewall growth accelerated sharply, climbing from 9 percent in the first quarter to 18 percent in the second, as enterprises pushed ahead with lifecycle refreshes, capacity additions, branch modernization, and virtual enforcement deployments.

Firewall refresh cycle doubles in pace within a single quarter

Mauricio Sanchez, Sr. Director for Enterprise Security and Networking at Dell'Oro Group, said firewall spending reaccelerated because customers had concrete drivers: aging infrastructure, higher throughput requirements, branch redesigns, and expanding private-cloud workloads. He characterized the activity as a targeted modernization cycle rather than an estate-wide replacement wave.
