Utemuratov Foundation Puts $1M Into Almaty Gas Network Expansion

Almaty – September 10, 2026 -- The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation has allocated 460 million tenge (approximately US$1 million) to fund the gasification of private residential homes in Almaty, partnering with the city's Akimat (Mayor's Office) on the project.
Foundation funding targets coal-to-gas conversion for private homes
Under a newly signed memorandum, the Almaty City Akimat will inspect private residences, consult with residents on connection procedures and coordinate the transition to natural gas heating. Qualified contractors will then carry out the construction and installation work required to connect each home to the gas network.
