Las Vegas – October 19, 2026 -- Coinbase will integrate Thunes' Direct Global Network for fiat payouts, while Thunes will run its stablecoin infrastructure on Coinbase's stablecoin solutions, the companies announced at Money20/20 USA.
Coinbase customers gain direct access to local clearing systems
Under the agreement, Coinbase will add Thunes' network to its platform. This gives it direct payout access to local clearing systems and alternative payment methods. Thunes will provide real-time last-mile delivery to mobile wallets and bank accounts, so Coinbase customers can send funds to more countries and currencies. The companies say this includes regions with limited banking infrastructure.
Thunes says its network operates in over 140 countries and more than 90 currencies.
Thunes deepens stablecoin integration through Coinbase
Coinbase will power Thunes' stablecoin infrastructure through its suite of stablecoin solutions. Thunes will use it to integrate stablecoins more deeply across its network and to expand within the digital asset ecosystem.
The companies target three use cases: enterprise supplier payments, global gig worker payouts and instant international remittances.
Executives frame the deal around compliance and US demand
Chloé Mayenobe, Deputy CEO at Thunes, said the link between digital currencies and local domestic financial systems is essential for real-world utility. She said the partnership will enable fully compliant cross-border payouts worldwide.
Alec Lovett, Head of Infrastructure Products at Coinbase, said last-mile connectivity allows "faster, friction-free payouts across more countries and currencies than ever before."
Kyle Rosen, Head of North America at Thunes, described the collaboration as evidence of the company's momentum as cross-border infrastructure for US businesses in financial services, payments, fintech and digital assets. The source gave no financial terms, launch timeline or volume targets.
