Ashburn – October 13, 2026 -- CIS Secure has achieved AS9100:2016 Rev. D certification for its quality management system, giving the defense communications supplier the aerospace quality credential that prime contractors and government program offices increasingly require from suppliers.
American Global Standards certifies Ashburn operations after audit
American Global Standards, a U.S.-based independent registrar, awarded the designation following an audit of the company's Ashburn, Virginia, facilities. The certified scope covers design, manufacture and assembly of repackaged commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) computer and networking components. These products are used in both secure and non-secure communications environments.
AS9100 adds product safety and supplier oversight requirements to ISO 9001
AS9100 is the internationally recognized quality management standard for the aviation, space and defense industries. It builds on ISO 9001 with additional requirements for product safety, configuration management, risk management, supplier oversight and on-time delivery.
Certification enables flow-down compliance on prime contracts and subcontracts
For customers and teaming partners, the certification demonstrates that CIS Secure can support AS9100 flow-down requirements on prime contracts and subcontracts. Program offices also gain documented assurance of traceability, configuration control and consistent delivery across the Secure Collaboration products portfolio.
CEO Joe Adams said the certification validates the company's quality management system and forms "a foundation for the next phase of our growth." Dave Sawyer, Vice President of Operations and Engineering, said the standard strengthens the company's ability to deliver consistent outcomes across every program and product.
AS9100 joins a stack of existing security and quality credentials
CIS Secure also holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications and CMMC Level 2 certification. It is an NSA-certified TEMPEST manufacturer.
