Chicago – October 19, 2026 -- Cboe Global Markets launched pre- and post-market trading in options on 24 single stocks and 5 ETFs on its Cboe Options Exchange (C1). Options on these names accounted for roughly 53% of average daily U.S.-listed options volume in 2026 through September.
Cboe opens two new sessions for equity and ETF options on C1
The pre-market session runs from 7:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. ET and the post-market session from 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday. C1 is currently the only U.S. options exchange offering pre- and post-market index options sessions. It is now extending extended-hours access to select single-stock and ETF options.
The covered underlyings include AAPL, AMZN, GOOG, GOOGL, META, MSFT, NVDA, TSLA and PLTR. The ETFs are SPY, QQQ, IWM, GLD and XLF. Cboe describes the group as including the Magnificent 10 stocks.
Seven brokers back the launch across the U.S. and Asia
Fidelity Investments, Interactive Brokers, Moomoo US, Robinhood, Tiger Brokers Singapore, TradeStation and Tradier are offering or plan to offer access. Moomoo US and TradeStation Securities said their clients can trade from day one.
Tiger Brokers Singapore CEO Ian Leong said the U.S. pre-market falls in the evening in Singapore, when much of the news that moves U.S. stocks is released. Tradier's CPO Peter Laptewicz said "Markets don't wait for the opening bell."
Cboe's Global Head of Derivatives, Rob Hocking, said demand for index options outside regular hours has been strongest ahead of the U.S. open, when economic data and corporate announcements are commonly released. He said the broker partners' input was critical to the launch.
Index options extended hours hit record volume in September
Cboe already offers near 24x5 trading in several proprietary index options through two sessions. Global Trading Hours (GTH) run from 8:15 p.m. ET to 9:25 a.m. ET, and Curb Trading Hours from 4:15 p.m. ET to 5:00 p.m. ET. GTH set record monthly and quarterly average daily volume in September and in the third quarter of 2026.
Cboe plans 23-hour equities trading on BZX from December 6
Cboe's U.S. equities business currently trades from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, on two of its exchanges. It plans to launch 23-hour, five-day-a-week trading on its Cboe BZX Exchange on December 6, subject to industry readiness.
Cboe will not open an options class if the underlying security has not opened. It will generally halt an options class if its underlying security halts.
