Carestream Launches STARVIEW Digital Radiography System for Routine Imaging

Shanghai – September 19, 2026 -- Carestream Healthcare International has launched the STARVIEW Digital Radiography System, a floor-mounted DR room built for routine radiographic imaging.

STARVIEW targets facilities upgrading from film, CR or aging DR systems

The system is designed to serve healthcare facilities introducing a first DR room, replacing legacy film-based or computed radiography equipment, or expanding routine-imaging capacity. Carestream built the platform around three pillars: fully digital operation, ease of adoption and scalability for future growth.

System pairs wireless detector with configurable generator options

STARVIEW ships with a wireless 43 x 43 cm detector featuring in-tray charging, an 8-inch tube-head touchscreen, and auto-tracking between the table and detector tray. Three generator configurations accommodate varying electrical-infrastructure requirements across facilities. The standard configuration includes one detector, with an optional second detector available for expanded room workflows.

Executive frames launch as modular response to varied modernization stages

Felix Zhang, Senior Product Line Manager at Carestream Healthcare International, said healthcare facilities have differing digital-radiography needs based on their workflow, infrastructure and modernization stage, and that STARVIEW offers configurations aligned to those current needs.

Carestream notes STARVIEW may not be available in all countries, with product configurations and options varying by market. Availability details are handled through local Carestream representatives.
