CACI Funds First Veteran Service Dog After Capitals' 200th Block

Reston – October 30, 2026 -- CACI International Inc (NYSE: CACI) has reached $50,000 in donations through its Good Dogs for Great Americans program, enough to fully fund the training and placement of one service dog with a veteran.

Capitals' 200th blocked shot triggers the funding milestone

Washington Capitals defenseman Matt Roy recorded the season's 200th blocked shot midway through the first period against the Nashville Predators. That took CACI's total to $50,000, since the company donates $250 for every shot the Capitals block. Defenseman Martin Fehérvary leads the team with 32 blocked shots. The threshold was reached in just under one month.

America's VetDogs will match a dog with a veteran immediately

America's VetDogs, the program's nonprofit partner, will select a service dog that is in the final stages of 18 to 24 months of preparation. The dog and its veteran will complete a two-week intensive training program at the organization's campus in New York and graduate in December.

Raising, training and placing one service dog costs America's VetDogs more than $50,000, yet the individual is never charged. The funded dogs support veterans living with physical disabilities, post-traumatic stress, and hearing and vision loss.

Donations continue with every Capitals block this season

Every Capitals blocked shot this NHL season continues to generate funding for additional placements. CACI senior vice president Mike Shields, the program's ambassador, said the milestone means a future service dog "is now beginning a journey" toward a veteran partner.
