MANAMA – – November 02, 2026 -- Beyon will power a third data centre entirely with renewable energy once Phase 5 of its Beyon Solar Park programme is completed, an investment of about BD544,500 that is expected to generate 2.5 GWh of clean energy a year.
Phase 5 adds 2,292 panels and 1.5 MWp of capacity across 14,000 square meters
Beyon developed the phase with Almoayyed Solar. The installation is expected to cut carbon emissions by more than 1,585 tonnes of CO2 annually. Completion is due in the coming months.
Beyon announced the milestone at Gateway Gulf 2026, in the presence of Beyon Group Chairman H.E. Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
Beyon extends solar programme beyond data centres with Bahrain's first green contact centre
During 2026, Beyon completed Phase 4, which brought renewable power to Total CX's Customer Contact Centre. Beyon describes it as the first green contact centre in Bahrain.
Phase 3, announced at Gateway Gulf 2025, enabled Beyon's Tier III Certified Data Center in Hamala to run entirely on renewable energy. The programme now spans multiple years and several asset types.
Executives tie expansion to data demand and customer ESG goals
Beyon says growing demand for data, cloud and digital services drives the build-out, and that the solar programme also supports customers pursuing their own sustainability and ESG objectives.
Beyon Group CEO Andrew Kvaalseth called reaching three green data centres "an important milestone" and said sustainability and resilience will remain integral to future infrastructure investment.
Almoayyed International Group Chairman Mohammed Almoayyed said the successive phases show sustained commitment to clean energy. He added that Almoayyed Solar will continue to support Beyon as the programme expands across its critical infrastructure.
Beyon also links the programme to the Kingdom of Bahrain's sustainability and carbon-reduction ambitions.
