Stockholm – October 19, 2026 -- Arelion has provisioned multi-terabit capacity on its Helsinki–Warsaw route and onboarded several new enterprise and wholesale customers, one year after launching its fully diverse Baltic corridor in October 2025.
Demand rises across financial services, cloud and hosting
Since the October 2025 launch, demand has accelerated across financial services, cloud, hosting and digital platforms, according to Arelion. The carrier has deployed several new high-capacity services across the Baltic region, including wavelengths, Ethernet and IP Transit. It attributes the rising performance requirements to AI and cloud workloads.
Ring links six countries with onward connectivity
The Helsinki–Warsaw route is part of a resilient ring connecting Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, with onward connectivity into neighboring countries. Arelion says the corridor bypasses traditional bottlenecks and offers true end-to-end route diversity. Customers can reduce shared risk, improve latency consistency and strengthen network resilience as a result.
Architecture priorities shift toward diversity and scalability
Henrik Almroth, Sales Director at Arelion, said customers now treat the Baltics as a core part of their European network designs rather than an edge market. He pointed to a shift toward architectures built on predictable latency, true diversity and rapid scalability.
Arelion describes the Baltics as an emerging interconnection zone linking Nordic and Central European ecosystems. Customers gain more flexibility in routing critical traffic, with growing focus on route diversity, operational assurance and long-term capacity readiness.
Additional deployments are underway, and Arelion says its Baltic investment is entering a new phase of sustained growth. The company did not disclose customer names, capacity figures beyond "multi-terabit," or investment amounts.
