BioCatch scores every banking session for account takeover risk
BioCatch Account Takeover Protection analyzes behavioral, device and session signals in real time as account holders use digital banking. It builds a baseline of legitimate activity and flags deviations such as unusual navigation, interaction patterns or transaction behavior that may indicate a compromised account or an active takeover attempt.
Each session receives a risk score. Financial institutions set their own thresholds based on their tolerance for potential fraud, which lets them tailor responses to their security strategy.
Gate City Bank reports 97% account takeover capture rate
Gate City Bank uses BioCatch through Alkami's integrated partner ecosystem to identify account takeover and suspicious behavior. Over the last six months, the bank reported a 97% account takeover capture rate and $650,000 in deterred fraud loss.
Raiz Federal Credit Union deployed a layered security strategy that included BioCatch alongside other security solutions. The credit union prevented more than $286,000 in fraud in its first year.
Alkami frames results around friction-free detection
Brad Cranford, director of product management at Alkami, said the 2025 results show behavioral and session signals helping institutions detect account takeover risk earlier and intervene before suspicious activity becomes a financial loss, without adding friction for customers or members.
Jay Whoriskey, vice president of global partners and alliances at BioCatch, said the $263 million figure demonstrates what behavioral intelligence can do at scale.
