Newark, N.J. – September 11, 2026 -- Agilis, a digital and AI platform provider for the chemical industry, has formed an Advisory Board staffed with former senior executives from Dow, BASF, Brenntag, allnex and Boston Consulting Group to guide its enterprise scaling and international expansion.
Agilis has digitized more than one million SKUs across 50-plus countries
The company says it has run AI features in production with customers since 2024, a stage many chemical industry peers have yet to reach as they remain in pilot testing. The new board is tasked with advising on strategy, product direction, enterprise adoption, commercial execution and international growth.
Five industry veterans join the board
The roster includes Dan Futter, former Chief Commercial Officer of Dow, who led the launch of Dow.com and pioneered digital channel adoption at the company. Steve Holland, former CEO of Brenntag, steered that company's transformation into a publicly listed global leader in chemical distribution. Gerry Podesta, former Senior Vice President of BASF, led three specialty chemical divisions after previously serving as VP of GE Plastics Americas. Andreas Gocke, former Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group, led BCG's global chemicals practice, advising chemical companies across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Benoit DeBecker, former Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at allnex, drove M&A, commercial excellence and sustainability initiatives during the company's private-equity ownership period.
Founder cites proven scale as rationale for board formation
"We started Agilis to solve a practical problem: the chemical industry needed digital technology built around its own products, data and commercial processes," said Jay Bhatia, Founder and CEO of Agilis. "That foundation is now proven at enterprise scale. This Advisory Board will help us apply it more widely."
Dan Futter said he joined because Agilis has moved beyond promise to proven adoption, noting the technology is being used at meaningful scale and that the leadership team understands the operational realities of the chemical industry.
