AdvaMed Accel Targets 400+ Startups at Boston MedTech Conference

Boston – October 17, 2026 -- AdvaMed is steering its more than 400 small and emerging medtech members toward The MedTech Conference, October 18–21 in Boston, where it expects over 4,000 attendees and 1,800 companies.

JC Scott, who has returned to the trade association as Chief Strategy Officer, also leads AdvaMed Accel as Executive Director. Accel is the association's dedicated division for emerging members, offering advocacy, access and community.

Partnering platform compresses investor outreach into days

Full Access attendees and Full Access exhibitors can use the Partnering platform to book one-on-one meetings with investors, collaborators, potential customers and strategic partners. Scott says conversations that might otherwise take months to arrange can happen over a few days. AdvaMed has published a 2026 investor list for preview.

Reverse Pitches and funding sessions map where capital is moving

Corporate leaders will use Reverse Pitches to describe the technologies and partnerships they are exploring. Two financing sessions are on the agenda: "How Family Offices Are Filling the MedTech Funding Gap" and "Navigating the Early-Stage MedTech Financing Landscape."

Commercialization sessions address launch planning and academic ties

"Designing for Launch: Embedding Commercialization Early in MedTech Innovation" covers market-entry planning. "Working with Academia and Health Systems: A Playbook for Strategics and Startups" covers collaboration with research and care institutions.

CEO-only forum is limited to venture-backed device companies

The AdvaMed Accel (Start-Up) Leadership Breakfast gives emerging-company executives a networking setting. Venture-backed medical device CEOs can also join the Lifeblood MedTech CEO-Only Forum, which covers fundraising, leadership, board management and growth. The forum requires additional registration and approval.

Scott says founders, investors and industry leaders he has spoken with since his return repeatedly named relationships as the deciding factor in raising capital, advancing technology and preparing for commercialization.
