Madison, Wis. – September 16, 2026 -- Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ: ARAY) and RaySearch Laboratories AB (publ) have signed a definitive agreement expanding their collaboration to accelerate adoption of online adaptive radiation therapy, with Accuray committing to purchase RayStation software licenses valued at $8 million.
Accuray commits $8 million to RaySearch software licenses
Under the deal, Accuray will buy specified RayStation licenses to support commercialization of online adaptive radiation therapy solutions, which both companies will jointly market and support. The agreement also brings RaySearch's RayCare technology into the partnership to simplify connectivity between clinical systems and streamline adaptive workflows.
Radixact platform gets first integration, CyberKnife to follow
The initial rollout targets Accuray's Radixact platform, combining the company's photon-based radiation therapy systems and imaging capabilities with RaySearch's treatment planning and workflow software. The companies plan to extend the solution to Accuray's CyberKnife platform at a later stage. As part of the agreement, RaySearch will further enhance its software specifically to support Radixact, creating a more integrated adaptive workflow.
Technology allows real-time treatment plan adjustments based on patient anatomy
Online adaptive radiation therapy enables clinicians to adjust treatment plans immediately before delivery based on the patient's anatomy at that moment, rather than relying solely on pre-treatment imaging. By linking imaging, treatment planning and care coordination in one workflow, the companies say the approach is designed to support more personalized cancer treatment while helping clinics operate more efficiently.
