North Chicago – October 18, 2026 -- AbbVie will present new and updated data on seven solid tumor assets at the 2026 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress, October 23-27 in Madrid, the company's most expansive ESMO program to date. The data span lung, colorectal, ovarian, prostate and gastric cancers, across antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), bispecific antibodies and combination regimens.
Temab-A posts 30% response rate in colorectal cancer combination
In a Phase 1 study of previously treated advanced colorectal cancer, Temab-A (telisotuzumab adizutecan) at 2.4 mg/kg plus bevacizumab delivered a 30% overall response rate after a median follow-up of 18.2 months. Median overall survival reached 14.7 months with the combination (n=30), against 10.2 months for standard of care (n=20), regardless of c-Met expression. No new safety signals were observed. The combination is now in the global Phase 3 AndroMETa-CRC-560 study.
In non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the response rate was 50% with median overall survival of 13.8 months in EGFR wild-type patients (n=48). EGFR-mutant patients (n=41) showed a 63% response rate and 16.2-month median survival. Among EGFR wild-type patients at the c-Met 3+, 25% or higher expression threshold, median survival was approximately 19.2 months.
A post-hoc pooled analysis of 19 EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients with baseline brain metastases showed a 37% intracranial response rate and a 19.8-month median duration of intracranial response. Temab-A has received two U.S. FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designations, in colorectal cancer and NSCLC. Monotherapy is being tested against standard of care in the Phase 3 AndroMETa-Lung-167 study.
ABBV-706 reaches 82% response rate in second-line small cell lung cancer
At the selected Phase 3 dose of 1.8 mg/kg, ABBV-706, a SEZ6-directed ADC, achieved a 56% response rate and 12.4-month median overall survival in 2L+ relapsed/refractory small cell lung cancer (n=41). In the second-line-only subset (n=17), the response rate rose to 82% and median survival to 14.4 months. Safety was comparable to previously reported data. A randomized Phase 3 trial against standard of care is ongoing.
ABBV-969 clears ctDNA in 90% of prostate cancer patients by cycle 3
In a Phase 1 dose-escalation study of heavily pretreated metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients (n=49, median five prior therapy lines), 90% achieved a reduction of at least 50% in circulating tumor DNA by cycle 3. Some 78% showed circulating tumor cell conversion from unfavorable to favorable levels. Of 27 patients with baseline PSMA PET assessments dosed at 3 mg/kg or higher, two were PSMA PET-negative per VISION criteria. Both achieved a PSA50 response, one with stable disease and one with a confirmed partial response. ABBV-969 targets both PSMA and STEAP1.
ABBV-1480 shows 61.9% response rate in first-line NSCLC
ABBV-1480, a PD-1 × VEGF bispecific antibody licensed from RemeGen for markets outside Greater China, produced a 61.9% response rate and 15.2-month median progression-free survival as monotherapy in first-line PD-L1-positive NSCLC (n=22). Combined with docetaxel at 20 mg/kg in previously treated NSCLC (n=21), it delivered a 66.7% response rate and 8.5-month median progression-free survival.
The most common grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events were hypertension and proteinuria for monotherapy. For the docetaxel combination, they were decreased neutrophil, white blood cell and lymphocyte counts. The asset is in the global Phase 3 AMUR-Lung-01 trial, and a new combination study with Temab-A in NSCLC has been initiated.
The presentations also cover alveltamig, developed by Suzhou Zelgen Biopharmaceuticals, and the approved medicines Emrelis and Elahere.
