ABA Honors Blue Ridge Bank's Robertson for AML Leadership

Richmond – October 16, 2026 -- The American Bankers Association has given Blue Ridge Bank Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Risk Officer Rebecca "Becky" Schauer Robertson its Distinguished Service award for Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT).

Robertson's 30-year career spans traditional and fintech banking

Robertson has built expertise in risk strategy, financial crimes compliance and regulatory remediation across both traditional and fintech banking environments.

She helped found ABA's AML and Fraud certification and school

Robertson served on the founding boards of the Certified AML and Fraud Professional certification and the ABA AML and Fraud School. She also helped design the school's original curriculum, recruited faculty and developed educational content. She remains one of its most highly regarded instructors.

She has long contributed to the advisory board of the ABA AML and Fraud Conference. The ABA credits her training and mentoring of new AML professionals as a key factor in the growth of its AML education programs.

Robertson is a past board member of the Carolinas and Virginia ACAMS chapters. She is also past president of the South Carolina InfraGard and SC FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association, and past treasurer of the Crimestoppers of the Midlands SC board.

Blue Ridge Bank exited a BSA-related Consent Order with "unprecedented speed"

Blue Ridge Bank CEO Harry Golliday attributed the bank's exit from a largely BSA-related Consent Order last year to Robertson's expertise, effort and ability to attract talent. He called the pace of the exit unprecedented.

Grace Vallacchi, the bank's Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Credit Officer, has worked with Robertson at Blue Ridge for two and a half years.
